Been extremely busy with blog installs for customers so I have been a bit lax on posting.
Also working on a new podcast so look for information on that shortly. Should be a fun show and I will let you know when it is up and running.
Now those are just excuses and there really is not an excuse for not announcing version changes here. WordPress has the latest update now available for the 2.2 series.
I am not pushing the 2.2 series for an upgarde and except for this blog have not changed any of my blogs to it. Iwill be trying this version for a bit and if it works a bit better with all my plugins then I will start to upgrade the rest of my blogs.
For now I am using it for new blogs but am not upgrading existing blogs to it. Main problem I have had is with the Sociable plugin. That also seems to vary with the theme I am using. This blog had no problems but qiute a few others I have been adding have been a bear to be polite to get working properly.
Thats all for today but I could use some more questions. Please leave a comment or use the survey at the top and stop back to see the answers.
Well, I’m a newbie to the website/blog world, so I wonder if I even know enough to know what questions to ask.
Does word order matter at all to SEO? Would Google see these three items differently?
1. Minneapolis MN real estate
2. real estate Minneapolis MN
3. estate Minneapolis real MN
etc…
Now first thing I want to make clear I am not nor do I claim to be an SEO expert. I do follow and read a lot about it as traffic from the left hand side of Google can be quite nice to have. MSN and Yahoo too.
I will say that one of the reasons I switched from using Bunny Tags to using the Ultimate Tag Warrior for my blog was the ability to set my title tags with SEO Title Tag.
It lets me make my title reader friendly and my title tag search engine friendly. From tests that I have done and tracked the closer to the beginning of your title tag that you get the main keyword the more weight Google gives it.
For example before I added the UTW and was able to edit the title tag I would give some thought to the actual blog post title and would use something like “Askimet – Why should I use it” versus “Why should I use Askimet” when I wanted to rank for the term Askimet.
Now I can use one for the title tag and one for the title of the post. So my feeling is that for the title tag the order does matter at least for Google which is what I primarily track for my ratings.
Now I can quite easily just start writing about what interests me about Word Press. The problem is that it probably won’t be what the majority of my readers are looking for.
I’ve always strived to get information here that will help the readers and clear up questions or misconceptions.
Judging by the questions that I do get the majority of my readers are relatively new to blogging and Word Press. Please submit your questtions here either through clicking the survey form at the top or by commenting so that I may deliver the type of content that you want from me.
After all if I guess you get stuck with what an Old Bald Guy thinks is important and not the answer to the question you may have.
I will be away this weekend at JV Alert in Philadelphia and will have my recorder with me so I may get some usefule snippets for here.
Been a bit lax here in posting and my apologies. No podcast with this one but found a great video on You Tube that explains RSS so simply that my Mother can now find my blog updates. I know because I sent her the link and now have to watch what I post because she now sees each new post.
If she can do this anyone can believe me because she thinks her computer is for email and playing free cell. Anything else is unheard of.
