Do you have any reputable resources on how to gain quality backlinks?
Well the real key for quality backlinks is effort. Sorry to say because everyone is looking for the quick fix.
There are tools to help automate some of the processes but the key is really consistent effort.
Following this list on a regular basis will work but it takes effort.
Comment on other blogs in your area but take part in the conversation
Write and distribute articles with proper anchor text
Bookmark your posts and others regularly
Submit your feed to all the RSS directories
Submit your site to web directories
Doing these things and doing them consistently is the key to developing good backlinks. As you do this it will snowball especially commenting on blogs. If you are participating in the community regularly others will notice and start participating with you and recommending you.
I know it isn’t a quick fix but regular effort and consistency are the keys to long term results and staying in the good graces of the search engines and bookmarking sites. This way you don’t have to worry about the next change in the algorithms. If you are providing consistent good content and participating you will have long term staying power.

Google Analytics is a great free way to track your visitors and see where your traffic is coming from and how they found you.
It is easy to set up you just need to create an account and follow the instructions to get the code for your site.
This will be a small piece of code. You can just add this into your footer of your blog.
I have added a video to show you exactly how to do that. Your theme files need to be writable on your server (permissions set to 666) to do it the way the video shows.

Upgrading your WordPress blog is important because like all open source software the hackers are always looking for ways to exploit it. WordPress does a good job of fixing any exploits that they find but if you don’t keep current you don’t stay protected.

The biggest question I always get each month on the Q and A sesssions is always about generating traffic to your blog.
To help people with just that problem I recorded a session with a coaching client. I had just installed a brand new blog for him and we got on the phone to set up a step by step plan to get traffic started to his blog.
I have also been busy getting ready for the relaunch of WordPress Lessons. There are still 10 spots left but that will close Saturday night or when the 10 spots are filled.
