@Bob, Yes it is still true.

If you do the corrections after installing Fantastico is fine but it is easier to just install it directly in my opinion.

Hi Mike, I am wondering if the above article still holds true with all the changes that have come about since you wrote this article.
Also Do you think it is better to download a copy of WordPress and install it manually or use Fantastico to install it?

Thanks for the info about updating your blog. I’m waiting a while, my last update was a scary process. My blog just wouldn’t update. Thankfully I have a good host who gave me a hand.
Will keep in mind the health check plugin and be sure to deactivate my plugins before I get started. Also will be sure backups are in order.

I think the best backlink is when you leave comments on other peoples blogs so that they can return and comment on your blog. That way you make it a two way street.
