Are you using a feed reader?

One of the best tools I have and one that I use a couple of times a day is my feed reader. Now I use Google Reader but you can use any of a number of readers

It makes it easy to keep up with topics that I follow quickly. As time is my most valuable commodity anything that can save me time is a God send.

Probably why I was ranting when Google moved the link to access it and happy when it came back to its normal position.

If you use items like Google Alerts (and you should) to keep track of your name, your various websites and other topics of interest a feed reader can make it very easy to keep track of all of them all in one place.

It helps to keep your email inbox clear too. You can grab the rss feed for your alert and add it to your reader. You can see a step by step post of how to use Google reader that I did last summer if you are unsure how to do this.

Having one place where you can review all of the Alerts, news feeds and blogs you follow on a topic can be a huge time saver.

Google Reader has some other advantages which include sharing with others. This can be set up to tie into some of your other social media too. You can share something you find with your Friend Feed and Google Buzz followers.
