Asking Your Reader
I have been expanding on the items that Nicole Dean did while guest blogging over at my other blog a couple weeks back. Here is one of them.
10. Ask your readers.
You’ve got a list. You want those people on your list to like you and buy from you, right? So, ask them what they’d like to hear more about. Survey them with a tool like SurveyMonkey.com or EasyInternetSurveys.com or any of the other great free services and find out. Then, offer them more content based around that topic.
Now to find out exactly which of these you would most like to see expanded please vote in the survey below. I have listed all of the topics I have not already expanded on.
Powered by Easy Poll Creator
Not all of these will need expansion so let me know which ones will help you the most.

All of these are really good choices and to limit the picking to only one is very tough. I have cast my vote and will await the outcome to see what is of major importance for the group. Thanks.

Interesting I just commented on another blog about Survey monkey, only to see you mention it here. I have had good results with them and like the fact that its easy to switch back and forth between paid and unpaid versions. I have used the paid for larger surveys, and then dropped back to the free service where I can still run short surveys for free.

Many of the topics could be your first choice and that would be good. I voted for Blog Stats. How to do it and how to use the results to increase your efforts, exposure, number of readers, etc. Thanks.

Nice idea Mike to incorporate the survey right into the blog post, it makes it so easy to vote. Where as if the survey was linked to somewhere else, it wouldn’t get as many results.

Well I voted for email results. Something I need to learn more about. I’ll look into the free services you mentioned and try it too. How do you incorporate the survey into a blog?

Wise words, Mike – not only do you make sure you’re giving your readers what they want, but it often then makes them feel obligated to read the materials that address their concerns.
But don’t ignore one important fact – in an industry with so many facets, so many changes every week and so stiff a learning curve for newbies, often readers don’t KNOW which questions to ask – they only know they’re missing SOMETHING…

One of the reasons I have always been a fan of give them what they want but add in what they need.
They will buy what they want but you can sneak in what they need so they do get results even though what they need they won’t buy. It is all in the packaging.
