Never heard of kielbasa with Thanksgiving dinner. And my Mom's family is 110% Slovak. I do love the stuff, though.

About a blog being a community...I never really though of blogs that way. I mean, aside from commenting to the blogger, I've never seen much interaction.

How could it be done?

The Kielbasa sounds great. When I think of a butcher shop I remember my Uncle's in St Cloud Minnesota years ago, where he always grated customers with a hearty hello. The polish sausage was his specialty.

When I think of a butcher shop today, I think of variety, freshness and service. So I guess that's what we need to provide in our blogs as well.

Mike,
Enjoyed the read. Do you use Meetups to help create community?

I am finding Meetups to be a another great source for developing community.

Kind Regards

Hey Mike,

You always manage to cover so much (serious) stuff in a relative small post.

Being from the Netherlands, Thanksgiving doesn't have the same meaning for me. Even when I lived in Florida for me the "Day after Thanksgiving" was the start of the Christmas Season... the Christmas stuff got onto the shelves... Here in Btazil the shelves were filled late October with Xmas decoration (including in the Wallmart I have here around the corner, no turkeys in sight..). Many houses, gardens are already decorated. As of December 1st, no more decorations to buy, then the "food stuff" takes over....

Fred
