Using Blog Desk to post your blog
One of the tools that I love and is free is Blog Desk. It allows me to compose my posts on my desktop and then after I am happy with them I can then upload them and any images I added to the post automatically.
You can even change the date you want the post to publish, edit whether to allow comments and trackbacks along with allowing it to publish immediately and add any trackbacks.

You can add images like the one above which I grabbed as a screen capture and in this case I put it centered but you can place it to the left or right and decide if you want it embedded in the text. The image as I am writing this is on my computer but when I upload it will do the image/s along with the actual blog post so need to use ftp for the images or to log in and upload them through the dashboard.

It has full WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) and you can change colors, bold lettering, italics, underline, strike through, or all of the above or any combination.
This makes it easy customize your posts.
The only downside is that you can not add your tags from your desktop and that is why I use it to write my posts but always uncheck the Publish after upload option as tagging is extremely important for getting the best serps.
Using Blog Desk is just one of the 10 videos in Advanced WordPress Videos that will allow you to generate more traffic and have a better looking blog.

So if I understand correctly, the advantage of Blog Desk is that you can customize your posts more in terms of centering and text devices. Or is there another reason?

It is a better wysiwyg than the one in WordPress and it will upload the images, resize the images or crop the images from there. If I want to resize an image to use on the blog I would need to open Photo Shop, resize it upload the image and then add the right div tags to position it where I want using the dashboard.
With Blog Desk I locate the image edit what I want in Blog Desk tell it where I want it and whether it should wrap or not and everything is done by Blog Desk. Saves a lot of time especially when I do tutorials where I am grabbing screen caps.

Thanks again Mike,
I also have not heard of blog desk until now. The wysiwyg in wordpress is very deceiving. Once I post I always have to go back and edit the HTML to get it right.
Hopefully this will solve that problem.
Thanks,

Cool, I never heard about this program before. I do find it hard sometimes to properly format my blog posts, so this looks like it should help a lot.

I actually took your suggestion moons ago, but never have started using it.
I may have to do that now. It seems so easy to use.
Thanks!

Interesting. Certainly have been struggling with the WP editor. Wondering how easy the upload is, but we will find out soon… hoping to try it..
