What do you want in a plugin?
Have to say that I am a bit perplexed. Not really all that unusual I am old and bald and these things happen sometimes. What has me perplexed is the lack of response to just one post.
Usually I get a good number of people commenting when I talk about a variety of topics but that dried up when I asked what kind of plugin you would like?
See I have paid a programmer a couple hundred dollars to get specific plugins made for me. Everyone here has a chance to get a talented programmer – Robert Plank – to make a plugin for your blog that you can get here for free.
Just need to add your idea in the comments and have it be the one picked.
Despite that there have only been two submissions previously.
I love the offer to make the plugin from Robert but would really prefer it to be an idea from a reader not just what I want so let me know and allow this old bald guy to become a bit less perplexed. Maude will appreciate it and I can stop going around the house going “Huh?”

I don’t know all of what a plugin is capable of doing but here is an area I have had trouble with. It’s because I ham not good with HTML and php.
If a plugin could check your blog code and make sure that all of the parts are there, it would be nice.
For example leaving of a closing tag, etc. I have really messed up the appearance of my blog and it takes me a long time sometimes to find the problem.
Such a plugin would some times save a lot of time.
Thanks

Hey Mike,
I’ve got a lot of plr articles that could be used for adsense type sites. I would like to see an auto uploader that you could choose categories and scheduled times. I’ve tried the one from Gabor Olah but I can’t get it working.
Another plugin similar to WP Article Spinner would be nice. I have not spent the money to see if it works but it sounds pretty cool

I have another request
A plugin – widget – that would allow to add images like ebooks with a link (similar to your 7 Tips eBook) without having to use html
Or is there something out there already?

I agree a plug-in that actually works to check the code of your site.
A seo plugin that just works and could actually add any missing items to make the blog more seo friendly.
There should be at least two categories which I would call real plug-ins which when activated just work and helper applications which require the plug-in installer to do anything else other than getting, uploading and installing any plug-ins.
Naturally this would have to be implemented by the developers at WordPress. I see no stifling effect on developers and in reality users would know up front that there both could be problems.
I would also second any of the other posted suggestions for plug-ins

I would like to see the ability to take RSS feeds and turn into post automatically without much work. not sure if that capability is out there or not. Otherwise, I would like easier way to autopost my PLR articles as post in a dripping fashion.

I would like to have a plugin which I could use for autoblogging.
I would like to be able to have directories ( on my pc) containing my articles, audios, videos. The plugin would take content at a time and rate and post to each blog. Posting could be by email or ftp.
I have caffeinated content. they pull articles from just one article directory. More would be better I would also like to use plr articles etc too.

Already have the RSS import plugin in WordPress Crusher. You dump in as many RSS feed URLs as you want, choose how often to post, you can choose to always import or restrict it based on word count.
Got an article import plugin on there too… it’s one of the first things I show. You upload a zip file containing blog posts which could be text or the embed codes for the videos. You can control how often the content is dripped out on that one too, even what time of the day.
Fixing broken HTML… that should be the job of your theme designer.
Brian: For the rotating RSS, why not create 4 RSS sidebar widgets, with blank titles, and limit each widget to only display 1 news item?
Luca: Add a text sidebar widget. It isn’t that much code to add an image, heck you could probably find cut and paste “add an image” HTML code if you Googled. Or at least create the tag in an html editor and copy and paste into the text widget.
Any other ideas guys?

I would like to see a good plugin that adds a table function to wordpress. I’ve see a couple but they never seemed to work right. WordPress has it all but needs a little better editor with more functions.
