WordPress Releases 2.9 Survey Results
The survey covered media features and they were looking for guidance for prioritize various features. You can see the full results on the WordPress blog.
The results were not the reason for this post though. Take the time to see how they structured the various questions to test out the results.
This is something to consider when you are running a survey for your blog. Being able to verify what people are telling you can make a huge difference in getting actionable results.
I am always looking for ways to get better information from surveys and taking the time to see how they did this can help you get better answers too.

So few marketers are taking the time to poll their readers or do any online suveying at all, so they have no idea how the match is between readers’ needs and what they send out. Congrats for not only being on the cutting edge here, but going the step further to pass on the info to those who put in the extra effot!

Interesting survey. Maybe it will help the developers to make WordPres better in the future. I have never done a survey on my blog. I did one with my list once. Will Keep these examples in mind when I do a survey again.

I like what came up as the second most wanted item, “easier embeds”. I often find it frustrating to embed vidoes, or place pictures in my blog post.

Pretty interesting results Mike.
I recently set up a survey for my readers. I asked some basic questions, but I was amazed by ‘what’ my readers were looking for am going to take that information and work towards that goal for them.
It’s pretty interesting the stuff you can get your readers to tell you when you actually ask them.
Too bad more marketers don’t do that.

Very interesting survey.
I really like how on the 4th question they let the developers vote first and then opened it up to the users.
Very interesting to watch the differences in perspective on this.
Thanks for the link to this Mike.
