Power of guest blogging
Regular readers know that I am a big believer in guest blogging. After all I spent eight week touring the internet and being a guest on a different blog. Called it the Old Bald Guy’s Blog Tour.
Do have to give credit to Nicole Dean though because she had a blog tour last summer and actually was on my other blog for a week as a guest. She wrote a good guide on setting up and getting the most from a blog tour – Blog World Tour Guide.
Well I am back to guesting and recommend that you consider doing the same. Tuesday I was a guest over at Alex Syseof’s blog and had an article called 3 Reasons For A Blogger To Use Google Buzz.
Now the question often comes up as to why anyone would add their content to someone else’s blog?
You get a lot from it if you give quality information and it is a win -win for both parties. I got access to Alex’ readership and they get a chance to meet me and sample what I talk about.
If they like my style they are very likely to stop and check out my blog. Alex gets additional content for his blog and most guest bloggers will mention that they were there adding an additional backlink to that blog.
So why don’t more people guest blog? There are probably a few reasons and the biggest is lack of confidence that someone would want to publish their article. After all they may feel that they are not a big enough “name” for anyone to want their input.
It does take time too which is always a valuable commodity for all of us. The payoff can be huge though if you put in the effort. If you are blogging regularly it is something you should consider.
If you write about blogging or social media and blogging you are welcome to contact me about guest blogging here. I am always looking for quality content especially from a different viewpoint.
If you are going to guest blog though it needs to be unique content that you are using for your guest post. Most blog owners are not interested in posting the same article you have added at 10 other sites.
So if you want to try guest blogging feel free to drop me a note at the support desk and you may end up here or on any of my other blogs on a topic that applies.
After you have tried that I do recommend you consider a blog tour. It is a lot of work (I know I am using those 4 letter words again) but the payoff is worth it. I will be doing it again probably over the holidays again this year.
If you do decide to do one I do recommend you grab Nicole’s Blog World Tour Guide.
