Questions needed for Blog Talk Radio Show
It is a new month so that means it is time to schedule my monthly WordPress Q and A Blog Talk Radio Show.
It will be Wednesday July 8th at 7pm edt.
Once again I will have my good bud Steve Roye of Real First Steps along to make sure there is no techno-geek allowed and that we answer your questions as completely as possible,
Leave your questions in the comments and you will also be able to ask your questions by calling in and speaking with us or by using the chat box during the show.
Mark your calendar and save the show link – WordPress Q and A – and I’ll talk with you on Wednesday night.

Hey Mike,
I have seen you mention over time that some WordPress updates need to be done and others do not because they are not security updates.
I was wonder what you use to tell the difference and decide which updates that have to be done and which ones do not.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Mike,
One of your previous posts you talked about using commenting on blogs to get backlinks and traffic. I was just wondering if you need to put your main blog url in the website field or can you put the url of a particular post you’d like to highlight. Is there any benefit in doing that
Thanks

I seem to be having trouble with PlugIm. I know you say that some plugins do not work with certain WP themes. Is there an easy way to determine this or is it just a little trial and error?
Thanks.

When there’s an new release, from a 2.6x to 2.7 or 2.7x to the future 2.8. Why bother with the immediate upgrade when it seems like a .1 release will be coming out in a few weeks? Seems like I could save time by waiting.

Why do some plug ins conflict with Widgets in 2.8.0? Or put another way why do Widgets become unusable if the wrong plug in is enabled in WP 2.8.0

I updated one of my blogs to WordPress 2.8 and everything went great. My other blog is on WordPress 2.7.1. When I try to update it, I get the following message: You have the latest version of WordPress. You do not need to upgrade. However, if you want to re-install version 2.7.1, you can do so automatically or download the package and re-install manually.
Is it time to upgrade to 2.8 and do I need to do it manually? Or should I just keep using 2.7.1 for now?
I won’t be able to make the call, but will listen to the replay. Thanks.
