Surviving New Google Algorithms
First an apology there was no rant yesterday but my excuse is it was my birthday week end and I decided to take the day off. Yep, that is my story and I am sticking to it.
Now back to questions and an interesting one today. Remember that you can leave your questions in the comments and I will answer them in future blog posts.
Question-I have heard that Google changed it’s algorithm for generic traffic on blogs on May 1st. Since that day i have seen ranking decline for several keywords on some blogs. Is there away to overcome this problem?
One thing you can be guaranteed is that Google will always change their algorithm. They are always looking to improve their results.
The key in my mind is to give Google what they want.
Now exactly what does Google want?
Google wants to be sure that every person searching on their service gets the result they want right away so that they come back the next time they need to search and use Google.
The key then is to make sure that you are providing the content that someone searching for that keyword wants. The quality of your content is key because if Google ranks you for that term and their customer is happy with your content then they will continue to rank you. If you are gaming Google in some way and that results in their customer being unhappy with your page when doing their search then Google will lower you. They want their searcher to be happy and return.
Now that does not mean that it is not important to get back links and work on your off site and on site SEO.
They are important and will help you rank for your keywords but you can do all of those things and if you do not provide their searcher with what they want Google will continue to tweak their algorithm to get better results for their searcher to your detriment.
Remember that your comments and questions are always welcomed so leave them below.
