What kind of theme do you like the most
Tired of the look on a couple of my blogs and as I have been changing parts of my business since the first of the year it is now time to think about changing themes on a few of them.
Really interested in what you, my reader likes when you visit a blog and more importantly what turns you off.
Time for me to step up my game on some things and your input would be helpful. Leave a comment below with your input. It will definitely be appreciated.
Look for more shortly on Google Buzz as I have been testing some things and may be running a survey on that quite shortly. In the mean time let me hear what you like and don’t when it comes to themes.

Mike – I tend to spend more time on sites that are brighter, greet me with a unique header and welcome. I prefer the sidebars not be overly busy or cluttered. I guess my taste as I grow older is more contemporary.
I had a problem with my prior blog (fortunately I had all my posts saved) so I have been playing around with Flexibility, but find I will need to have custom graphics made. I’m almost convinced it would be better to hire someone, give them a general concept, and let them create the overall color pallet and layout.(If the budget permits)
It’s a real problem but you have done the right thing by asking your readers what they like. I hope you get good feedback.

I prefer blog themes that take you quickly to the information, with a smaller or medium header and simplified sidebar. There are some full screen themes that accomplish this. Themes that have a simple color scheme are attractive as well. Glass like themes seem to please readers.

I am always agonizing over the look of my site. I especially get sidetracked by the sidebar. I personally like a smooth flowing sidebar. I also use the flexibility theme and would use no other. It is indeed the most flexible WordPress theme I have used yet.
The only thing I did not like about my theme was the left and right sidebars that display below the the top sidebar. Too me, nothing against this blog, it makes the site look cluttered and takes away from the blog content itself. I decided to dig into the code and remove only one of the sidebars.
I am still working on alignment, it is close but not quite where i want it but the overall look of the site is much cleaner. This blog has more links to programs and services than mine does too so that may not work here.
I have always noticed the sidebar here, since my first visit. Not all of the stuff lines up properly. It works but the videos and blogcatalog widget make it look haphazard.
I also decided to use the top feature area as a featured posts area like it should be and took all of the advertising out of it. I installed and configured the SmoothSlider plugin to slide 5 featured posts from right to left. I did opt to keep the bottom bar as a ad area however.
The flexibility theme is a great theme in my opinion. It has a bunch of options and a novice user can change the look of their site on the fly. I say your site looks great but needs to be cleaned up just a little and the sidebar needs updating.
I know you are a guru and have all sorts of friends and contacts but maybe you might need a little help with this? I don;t know if you know graphics or HTML Mike, you defiantly know marketing, but I would be more than happy to help. I am no guru myself and I am not a professional programmer or graphics designer but I can normally do what I set out to do.
Make sure you let all know what you plan to do.
