Today’s question is:

Hi Mike, I have noticed the ‘Bookmark’ button appearing on a few blogs recently. Yours was the first and as the undoubted expert on plug-ins does this replace the ‘Sociable’ plug-in?. It seems much better in that all the sites can be included as opposed to having to select.

The bookmark plugin does replace Sociable. The biggest advantage is a single link out but at this point it is just a test.

See the problem is that I now have one link out but until the testing is done the key will be how many bookmark links am I losing because of it. I track those things so that shortly I can tell.

The decrease in outgoing links is great but…

If no one uses it because it is now a 2 step process then I lose all the new incoming links. So at this point the jury is out until the stats come in.

If you are not tracking what is going on then you can’t tell which changes helped you and which didn’t.

Will definitely talk more about it though as the results become quantifiable.

As always your questions and comments are welcomed. The more interaction the more often this blog will be posted.

Anyone interested in more videos on WordPress 2.5? Let me know.
