Todays question is one that gets asked often every time WordPress does an upgrade. The great thing with WordPress is the plugins and themes that are available but upgrades in WordPress can cause trouble on occasion.

Fortunately I DO have a question for you today – in all your testing with 3.0 and 3.0.1, were there any issues when transferring your existing blogs? Any plugins that stopped working?

WordPress 3.0 was one of the easiest transitions I have had for plugin compatibility at least the ones I use and recommend.

I have found over the last couple version changes that the vast majority of plugin authors (at least the ones I use) seem to be active in the beta or at a minimum testing the release candidates with their plugins.

Right after the release candidate came out the number of plugin upgrades sky rocketed.

As long as you have kept your plugins up to date there should not be a lot of problems with incompatibility with 3.0 versions. (Of course there is no way I know all of the plugins that anyone person uses I can only go by the ones I use and recommend.)

Themes are a bit different. They have not created compatibility problems but some of the new features like the drop down menus will not work with older themes. Just be aware.

As always your questions and comments are welcomed.
