3 Ways Article Marketing Can Increase Your Blog Traffic [ 3:10 ] Play Now | Play in Popup | Download

The one thing you never get enough of to your blog is traffic. Doing some article marketing to your blog can be an effective strategy in a couple of different ways.

  • Direct traffic from the article directories
  • Direct traffic from those re-publishing your articles
  • Better ranking in the search engines because of the links from your articles

Here are 3 ways to help accomplish that.

Two part articles

Now to generate traffic directly from either the article directories or the people re-publishing your articles the easiest way is the two part article.

Use part 1 as the article that you will submit and have part 2 on your blog. Here is an example where I am going to write about 10 ways to do something.

Submit 5 ways to do x to the article directories and then in your signature file use something like “Go here For 5 more ways to do x ” linking to the other 5 ways of your 10 ways on your blog.

You can use any variation of this but the key is that if the first part was helpful the reader will want to get even more information and will click through to your blog.

Now of course it will be most beneficial if your blog is set up to get the reader involved with more than just that article or to get them to subscribe to your blog but that is a topic for a different time.

Good Anchor Links

A second way that you can use articles to generate traffic is through using good anchor links. Now this works best when you are targeting long tail keywords on your blog and you need to link to specific blog posts not your home page.

If you are trying to rank in the serps for a specific keyword make sure that you are linking to your post on that topic with that keyword as the clickable link in your signature.

You could use a signature file using something like “You can get even more information on keyword phrase here” making the term keyword phrase be hyperlinked to your specific post.

Here you would love people to click through but your big benefit will be to have solid anchor links pointing to your post on that topic.

Building Your Blog Update List

A third way to use article marketing to increase your blog traffic is to use the signature file to link to a squeeze page where people can sign up to get your blog updates. If you use an autoresponder like Aweber you can automatically send an email each time you update your blog to people on that list so that they can come visit your site again.

Doing this will increase your traffic because you will be reminding people as you keep adding content to come back and check it out.

It is important to have a compelling offer or as a friend of mine calls it an ethical bribe for signing up. Just link to that page from your signature file in your article.

So there are 3 ways you can increase your blog traffic using article marketing. Now go do an article a week and see how much it can help your blog traffic increase.
