Comment Luv Contest – your chance to win and get more traffic

Earlier in the traffic series I discussed blog commenting. Blog commenting is one of those win win situations. The blog owner wins because they get more fresh content and the commenter wins because they get a link back to their site and potential visitors clicking through to their site.
Caveat – This is based on quality comments and not people just spamming for links. Yes actually add value with your comments. Nuff said!
Also the default for WordPress is to use no follow links for commenting. Reward your commenters by using the do follow plugin so they get the benefit of the link. I do.
Comment Luv is a plugin I use here and on other blogs to reward commenters. When you add your url it will go look for your latest post and if it can find it will add a direct link to it as part of your comment.
This gives back a bit more to the people that are helping you by adding additional quality content to your blog.
Well to help promote the use of this plugin the creators have started a contest and you can win by simply using the plugin and registering your blog with them. This means that anyone leaving a comment here has the chance to win a prize from comment luv because this blog has been registered there.
You can read the full details at The Great Comment Luv Contest.
The contest is run by the owners of Comment Luv and while we participate here we have nothing to do with the rewarding of any prizes and are not liable for any part of it.
So take care of your commenters by using Comment Luv and Do Follow and increase the interactivity of your blog.
As always your question and comments are welcomed.

Hey Mike
as a relatively new blogger I am still getting to grips with the array of plugins and widgets that are out there… great to get educated here on your blog!
Enjoyable post
Thanks

Hi Mike,
My blogs are dofollow and I use the KeywordLuv plugin, but haven’t used the CommentLuv plugin.
I guess it’s time to try out CommentLuv and see how it works. If I use CommentLuv I wonder if I should turn off KeywordLuv? Guess I’ll have to test with both being on and see what happens.

Mike,
CommentLuv is awesome! What a great way to help others by giving them backlinks.
However, I really like your caveat, it does nobody any good if the commenter doesn’t add to the conversation. I don’t even approve those type of comments.
Help the conversation, and you get a backlink. Leave garbage and you don’t.
It’s that simple.

Charles Burleigh

@Mike -
Not familiar with KEyword Luv but would not be surprised if there is a conflict as it sounds like they me do the same types of things.

Mike,
I’ve seem CommentLuv in use on a number of different blogs but had never made use of it myself until recently. I really like it and the way it encourages comments and really gives incentive for people to leave quality comments.
I think as more bloggers see the benefits to using this, we will see it more and more throughout the blogosphere.
Thanks,
Deanna

This is one of the best plugins ever made in my book. It rewards bloggers for leaving comments on other blogs… Way cool!

My blog is do follow so feel free to add me. I will only delete really obvious spam. I blog on a range of things so i am sure visitors will find something they can add a sensible comment on .

Comment Luv most definitely generates more traffic which ultimately translates into more income. You’ve got to love it.

Comment Luv is to Blogs as icing is to cake! Most people don’t contribute to blogs simply because they must register, wait for a confirmation e-mail to activate, then log-in, etc. and at the end of the day get nothing back for the effort. Rich anchor text in a backlink will motivate more commentary and help the blogger build subscribers and growing content from all the commentary. Everybody wins. Sad that Google support the no-follow movement IMHO.
