Need more comments here

By Mike | April 5, 2008

WordPress Made EAsy

Have not been getting the number of comments here that I would like. Have actually thought about using the “Robert Plank” rule. On his blog he won’t post a new post until he gets 10 comments.

Now I don’t want to do that but have done a few things to make commenting here more valuable for you. I have removed the “no follow” from this blog. All links will follow and be posted.

I used a plugin called “Do Follow” which means that when you comment here you get a valid link that the spiders can and will follow. I am considering though not posting until there is at least one comment on each new post.

That rule is not in effect yet but it is being considered.

Let me know what you think about it.

Mike Paetzold

    Ok, we get it.
    But…
    It is April 5.
I am still working on first week of March projects.
My inbox is ready to explode.
I can’t keep up with the subscription reading, never mind the great free advice.
I am spending my free 27 minutes per week learning wordpress, twitter, stumbleupon, ebay changes, seesmic, squidoo, meebo, upski, downski, and 23 more.
So please cut us some slack teacher and keep the info coming. We will absorb. Maybe your explanations are so good, we don’t have questions, comments, rants or complaints.
If a blogger yells in the forest, does anyone hear. Yes.
    Take care and carry on.
Oh and by the way this is the second time this week someone in the internet community scolded me (Thanks to Ross “ya better attend my teleseminars or else” Goldberg).
I feel I am in school again.
    Thanks

Gosh Mike, I love hearing from you almost daily. I’ve set up a folder and have every one of your messages. You bring so much value to my blogging knowledge. As you know, it’s an area I’m just now really starting to pay attention to. I know I’ll have tons of questions as I get going here. My biggest challenge right now, is getting a grasp on this whole bookmarking, digg, ping, stuff that sounds like German to me. I’m looking for someone, somewhere, to do a video in SLOW MOTION as if talking to a 2nd grader. i.e,, go here like this . . . when you get her do this . . . then do this . . . When you’re done here, go here . . . and do this . . ., by the way this is called (whatever). If someone would come out with a video product and tutorial just for this alone and call it pinging, digging and bookmarking for rookies, I’d buy it. I’m such a visual learner. Don’t tell me, show me and talk to me like you’re trying to explain it to a child.

I know that I’m suppose to be linking, backlinking, digging, all that “stuff” but quite frankly, the visual “how to” is keeping me back.

Steve Renner does this alot and within minutes after he posts, (he does his digg and ping and whatever so fast I can hardly see what he’s doing), he’s on the top of google search engines. Go figure!

Anyway, My comments are about you and how I enjoy sifting through my Mike Paetzold file anytime I’m looking for a solution to a problem. You’re the “go to” guy for me. Thanks for all your posts. It’s a life-raft for me trying to stay alive in the ocean of blogging.

I am just barely getting started so any information I get is great. There is a lot to sift thru when starting to blog especially if you want to get attention to your blog. So Keep up what you are doing. Thanks. Raymar

    Dale

It was meant to get a discussion going. Blogs are most powerful when there is a good discussion.

Having seen Plank’s blog be quite interactive because people want the information I decided to find out what it would take here.

Changing the no follow allows me to give back to those that do participate.

    Dear Mike,
While I agree with what Debbie Turner is saying with respect to a slo mo video I find that putting a vid on pause helps a lot.

On the other hand I am finding myself in need of a WP blogging strategy along the lines of: if your objective is X than you’d better do Y.
For the moment I am trying to figure out how Aweber works, how to import WP plugins, how to write decent blog copy without dumbing down, how to monetize, how to podcast and how to vlog.

And of course I am doing everything on a Mac so lots of the tutorials out there don’t ring my bell.

Also I would like to have Paypal on the blog.

It seems like I am trying to spin a lot of plates without really knowing how to get the spinning started.

Seems to me that since there are now so many blogs are up and running successfully that there must be a step by step model that dose not cost an arm and a leg and does not require alot of useless 3 ring binders.
    Best,

    Hal

Just found this blog, and looks like good place for some one new to blooging and affiliate marketing. I have a blog and is set up through wordpress. My mentor says that a blog is a great way for some one with no or little experience to get started with affiliate marketing and making money on the internet.. What do you think??

My question: To get my key words good rankings on google. How do I get my articles linked to my blog page for ranking??
Is this a good way to help ranking?

I take it that posting here will also help.

any help in getting me started will GREAT

    Thanks RonnyG

My preference for my niche sites is to use a 2 part article. Use a good signature that links to part 2 directly on your blog with the anchor text you want.

Get a link and get traffic as long as they liked your first part.

Hi there, I myself have been using a wonderful system that helps me greatly with my marketing success and it is called Veretekk and it is about a marketing system that is highly effective because of the results individuals get from it by using it, also it is Free to join to learn all about Search Engine Optimization and the importance of using backlinks, and learn all about blogs and why they are important to start using for overall success, also this system has Live Online Training included with it to help people with their business success.

I find Veretekk to be a terrible system that is filled with spam. They teach spam tactics by using one of their email addresses and telling you rto sign up for lists then autoresponding back to everyone that sends you anything.

Sorry in my book that is spamn and a bad marketing tactic and strongly recommend that none of my readers ever use that system.
