New version of the Word Press 2.2 series

By Mike | June 24, 2007

WordPress Made EAsy

Been extremely busy with blog installs for customers so I have been a bit lax on posting.

Also working on a new podcast so look for information on that shortly. Should be a fun show and I will let you know when it is up and running.

Now those are just excuses and there really is not an excuse for not announcing version changes here. WordPress has the latest update now available for the 2.2 series.

I am not pushing the 2.2 series for an upgarde and except for this blog have not changed any of my blogs to it. Iwill be trying this version for a bit and if it works a bit better with all my plugins then I will start to upgrade the rest of my blogs.

For now I am using it for new blogs but am not upgrading existing blogs to it. Main problem I have had is with the Sociable plugin. That also seems to vary with the theme I am using. This blog had no problems but qiute a few others I have been adding have been a bear to be polite to get working properly.

Thats all for today but I could use some more questions. Please leave a comment or use the survey at the top and stop back to see the answers.

Mike, I heard your call last night. WP is a real mystery to me and I never know what it is going to do or not do. For example, I posted a couple of days ago and I used Firefox. I typed the post in WordPad, copied and pasted it in WP. I cleaned it up a bit , changed a few words, etc., clicked “Publish” and up jumped a question asking whether or not I want to edit. I copied the post having learned from several other times when this same thing happened. I clicked on “NO” and the post vanished never to be found again. I fooled with it so much after that, I really don’t know what I did, but if I use Internet Explorer it works some better.

Another problem is that sometimes when I post and publish, the post comes up with the first paragraph squeezed way over to the side about a half inch wide and 8 inches long up the right side.

I gathered from your call last night that my WP may have been installed improperly by my guru who I paid a lot of dollars to mentor me and set up the site for me. So far, I have not made a dollar, and he is long since hit the bricks. Another scammer I guess.

I have just purchased your WP installation program and I am wondering when I install WP myself from your directions may I save and upload the posts that are already on my site?

    Thx, F. Lively
