Here are the seven steps to finding those untapped niches
and getting "want to buy now" visitors to your blog.

Step One - Keyword Research

So the first step is to do some old fashion work. You need to dig through and find those places where you can compete. Now this may take you an hour or two if you have some good keyword software, but if you are doing it manually, using something like the Google External Keyword Tool you can easily spend 4 to 8 hours doing this step properly.

This also requires an understanding of exactly what you are looking to find. Turhtfully, there is a touch of art, that comes from experience, in deciding if these are keywords a buyer would use or ones that a researcher is interested in. After all you are looking for people in buying mode not just lots of visitors.

Once you have completed this step you will have created a list of keywords where you can easily rank for these topics that are used by buyers.

Step Two - Finding Products To Promote

Next you need to do some research and find products to sell within that niche. You will want to do this while doing your keyword research. After all if there are not related products selling in that slice of the market the odds of making a profitable blog go down drastically. Much better to stop right here and find a better micro niche.

Step Three - Finding A Keyword Rich Domain

Now you need to go get a keyword rich domain as a keyword rich domain will help you to rank for these terms. Your domain can be a huge help in ranking for these keywords. Spending a bit of time finding hte right domain will pay off for you.

Step Four - Installing And Tweaking Your Blog

Now you need to install your blog and get it set up properly so that Google and the other search engines will show it as much love as possible. After all even though the competition is less you still want every advantage you can get and the right mix of plugins and a quality theme can make a huge difference.

Get the settings right and your blog will be like a traffic magnet but make a mistake or two and it is like a clogged vacuum. It will suck up some traffic but no where near what it should.

Step Five - Adding Unique Keyword Rich Content

You need to start adding unique content to your blog.

For the search engines content is king and getting quality content up is the key to drawing traffic. Using your keyword research to target the appropriate terms can help you start getting traffic quickly.

Step Six- Start Creating Links Back To Your Blog

This will be the start of an ongoing process to help your content get indexed. You need to get your blog submitted to the rss directories and bookmarked. You will as you get going spend more time on your link building and will eventually start re purposing your content through the parasite hosts.

Step Seven- Building Your List

There is a reason you so often hear the money is in the list. It is. Well actually it is in the relationship that you build with that list but you need to start building it and that is best done by having some type of ethical bribe that your visitors will want.

The days of just adding an opt in form and building a list are long gone so you do need to target your visitors well.

Sounds Great But What Will It Cost Me

Before we get into that lets look at what the pieces are worth.

Considering that paying someone to do keyword research and find a keyword rich domain that is good at finding the profitable micro niches could easily cost you $100 and that would be on the low side. Or it could take you from 1 -10 hours of your time if you picked a good one the first time.

Get it wrong and it can cost you months of time.

A domain will cost you about $10 a year at most registrars.

People pay me $120 to install and tweak their blog on a regular basis. Adding a custom header is an additional $50 or $170 total.

5 unique content rich articles would probably cost you $6 - $10 each or a total of $30 -$50 for 5 at a minimum.

You can spend an hour or more researching affiliate programs and I do not know what you value your time at but mine is worth quite a bit but for this example lets you $20 which is the minimum you should be valuing your time at and yours may be much, much higher.

Buying and converting a PLR product to make it unique to you can easily cost you $197 or much more.

Just getting a series of emails can easily cost you $10 each at an absolute minimum. Back when I was doing that as a regular part of my business I charged $20 an e-mail. A good friend of mine charges $30 or more but to keep this conservative we will call it at the $10 rate or $50.

It would cost you another $50 or more to outsource your submissions to someone or if you did it manually it would take you 3-5 hours at a minimum.

That means that if you find all of these people to do each of these steps at the minimum rates you would spend over $667 and it would probably be over $800 not counting the time and research you would need to do to check out each of the vendors.
